Tree Removal at the Linskill Centre, North Shields
Red Fox Tree Care was asked to carry out the removal of a large mature tree within the grounds of the Linskill Centre in North Shields.
With buildings and other features immediately surrounding the tree, there was limited space to work. Rather than felling the tree from ground level, our arborists carefully dismantled it in controlled sections using specialist climbing and rigging techniques. The photograph shows the tree part-way through the dismantle, after the crown and branches had been removed and the remaining main stem was being taken down in sections. This controlled approach allowed the team to safely manage the timber within the restricted working area while protecting the surrounding property.

OUR APPROACH
Why Choose Red Fox Tree Care?
Choosing a tree surgeon isn't simply about finding someone who can cut a tree. Good arboricultural work should consider the tree, the property and what you're trying to achieve.
1
Honest Advice
Removing a tree isn't always the answer. Where a tree can safely and reasonably be retained, we'll explain the options available rather than recommending unnecessary work.
2
Professional Tree Care
We use appropriate arboricultural techniques, specialist equipment and careful planning to complete work safely and to a high standard.
3
Respect for Your Property
Tree work can be messy. We take care around gardens, neighbouring properties and surrounding structures and leave the working area tidy once the job is complete.
4
Local & Independent
Red Fox Tree Care is an independent Whitley Bay business. When you contact us, you're dealing directly with the team responsible for assessing and completing your work.
5
Responsible With Green Waste
Branches, timber and woodchip generated through our work are reused or recycled wherever practical, including through community projects in North Shields
Do You Need Permission for Tree Work in North Shields?
Some trees in North Shields are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), while additional restrictions apply to trees within Conservation Areas. This doesn’t necessarily mean that work cannot be carried out, but the appropriate permission or notification may be required before work begins.
If your tree is protected, Red Fox Tree Care can prepare and submit the required TPO application on your behalf, including the proposed arboricultural works, so you don’t have to navigate the application process yourself.
If you’re unsure whether your tree is protected, don’t worry. We can check this as part of planning your tree work and advise you on the next steps.

Frequently asked questions
Look for a professional and appropriately insured tree surgeon who can explain what work is actually required and why. Independent customer reviews, examples of recent work and a clear written quotation are also useful indicators. Red Fox Tree Care provides a site visit before quoting so we can assess the tree and discuss the options with you.
The cost of tree surgery depends on the size and condition of the tree, access to the property, surrounding buildings, the work required and whether specialist equipment is needed. We assess the job before providing a clear, no-obligation quotation rather than relying on generic prices.

Yes. Restricted access doesn't automatically prevent a tree from being removed. Depending on the site, our arborists can use specialist climbing, rigging and dismantling techniques to carefully remove sections of a tree without requiring them to be freely felled.
